Redeemer membership

The Bible places a strong emphasis on belonging to a local church. Church membership is an expression of commitment to a local church and an expression of commitment from a local church. Our goal at Redeemer is to have meaningful membership, and we work to accomplish that goal through covenant membership.

Redeemer covenant members are individuals who have been redeemed by Christ, professed their faith through baptism, and have entered into covenant relationship with one another at Redeemer to grow in Christ with one another and to proclaim Christ to the world.

Our Membership Process:

  1. Redeemer Membership Class. Our membership class is offered to anyone interested in membership (or simply learning more about Redeemer). This class covers theological and function essentials of our church including beliefs, governance, mission, and membership expectations.

  2. Redeemer Membership Information Form. The next step in our membership process is to complete our information form. In this step, membership candidates submit basic biographical and family information, give a written statement of conversion (testimony), and respond to basic questions about church, mission, and ministry.

  3. Membership Interview with a Pastor. This step is two-way communication between a Redeemer pastor and a membership candidate. As part of this step, the prospective member affirms the Redeemer Church Statement of Faith and submits a Membership Covenant. The interviewing pastor will share findings with the other pastors before moving to the next step.

  4. Church Affirmation. The final authority of granting membership lies with the gathered covenant members. During a Members Meeting, prospective members will be presented by the pastors for church affirmation. Upon an affirmative vote in a Members Meeting, the person is welcomed as a covenant member into the Redeemer family.
